What Is This City Known For?
Rize is the province where most of Turkey’s tea production takes place; the green tea plantations stretching along its slopes are the region’s most recognizable feature. Located at the foot of the Kaçkar Mountains, the Ayder Plateau is a nature tourism destination known for its hot springs and traditional mountain cottages. The region is one of the rainiest areas in Turkey.

Rize is Turkey’s rainiest and greenest province, home to tea fields that seem to encompass every shade of green, the hot springs of Ayder Plateau, its authentic houses with spire-shaped roofs, and the waterfalls at the foot of the Kaçkar Mountains. Destinations such as Zıpkın Plateau and Pokut Plateau are also on nature lovers’ itineraries.
