What Is This City Known For?
Fethiye, known in ancient times as Telmessos, is a city renowned for its magnificent Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliffs (particularly the Amyntas Rock Tomb). Ölüdeniz (Blue Lagoon) Beach and paragliding from Babadağ above it are among the region’s most famous activities. The Lycian Way long-distance hiking trail begins here. Nearby Kayaköy is known as a Greek village that was abandoned following the 1923 population exchange.
