Kayseri is known for Mount Erciyes (now a ski resort), at the foot of which it is situated, and for its Seljuk-era domed tombs. The city is also famous for its pastırma and sucuk, as well as its Kayseri mantı; throughout history, it has served as an important trade center along the Silk Road.

Located in the shadow of Mount Erciyes’ 3,900-meter peak, Kayseri is one of Central Anatolia’s most dynamic commercial cities, known for its stone domed tombs dating back to the Seljuk period, its historic castle, and its world-famous mantı. Erciyes, a ski resort in the winter, also attracts visitors in the summer with its hiking trails.
